Dallas Home Renovation - Olympia
This beautiful 1920's Tudor style home in a historic district of Dallas, TX was constructed on an unusually small lot. The lot is, in fact, smaller than what the covenants of the district allowed. The owner's desired to expand the size of their home to meet their needs and increase the value of the home. To meet the owner's spacial needs and comply with the historic district's covenants, the existing second floor was renovated to utilize all possible space available while satisfying the building set back requirements and not see the additional space from the street. A large gable was added to the left, east side of the second level and the height of the existing roof ridge governed the allowable height of the addition. To achieve this some of the spaces had a maximum ceiling height of 7'-6".
